BIO

Shane Gomes is originally from Honolulu and grew up in Keaau, Hawaii. His dissertation focused on using comic books and graphic novels as the basis of multimodal pedagogies intent on destroying the Western Canon while simultaneously teaching composition and literature. He has taught courses on composition, world literature, professional/technical writing, and film. His research interests include Comics and Pop Culture, Usability and User Experience, and Ecofeminist Criticism.听
