The mission of the Center of Excellence in Information Systems and Engineering Management (COE-ISEM) is to provide an environment conductive to and facilities in support of interdisciplinary research in selected areas of information systems. The Center consists of researchers, support staff, and students in the areas of astronomy, advanced control systems and systems identification, applied mathematics, and management information systems. Graduate and undergraduate students are drawn from computer science, physics, mathematics, and engineering curricula. The center is located in the Avon Williams Building of TSU's downtown branch campus.

The Center of Excellence for Learning Sciences at 91制片厂 is one of the state's accomplished Centers of Excellence. Centers were established by the association of the Tennessee General Assembly in 1984 to expand research and contribute to the overall economic and community development base of the State of Tennessee. The mission of The Center of Excellence for Learning Sciences is to conduct multidisciplinary research and demonstrations concerning practices, policies and programs of the institutions and communities that influence the educational, social, physical and psychological听 well-being of children & families.

The Center continues to develop a long-standing and active relationship with the local community including African Americans, Hispanics and other under-served communities in addressing their health-related needs and is a hub of research activity and training for faculty and students.

91制片厂's Center of Excellence in Battlefield Sensor Fusion is a multi-disciplinary research initiative established with the support of the U.S. Department of Defense through Army Research Office.听 The Center's research mission is to develop decentralized and scalable sensor data and information fusion technologies applicable to large array of distributed multiple modality smart sensors scattered randomly in the battlefield environment. The program involves multi-disciplinary research faculty and students from two participating universities.

The mission of the 91制片厂 Cooperative Extension Program is to help educate and provide information to limited-resource urban and rural families, individuals听& other groups and organizations. We use research-based information and technology to focus on priorities and needs which help improve quality of life.听

The goal of the Massie Chair of Excellence Program is to assist historically black colleges and universities ( HBCUs) and Hispanic-serving Institutions (HSIs) in producing cutting-edge minority environmental engineers.

sponsors the program in honor of , the Naval Academy's first African-American professor. The Program provides for an environmental engineering professorship at nine HBCUs chosen based on their partnership with Fortune corporations in the organization AMIE (Advancing Minorities' Interest in Engineering: A Coalition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Fortune Companies).听

The Office of Business & Economic Research (OBER) focuses on urban business and economic development issues. Additionally, OBER conducts applied research on a听 wide variety of topics related to urban听development, small and minority businesses, and entrepreneurship. As a public stitution serving a major metropolitan area, 91制片厂 is committed to service and outreach. OBER is an important contributor to the TSU mission, providing data and analyses of economic, demographic, and business trends.听 The office also publishes Nashville Area Business and other publications related to the Nashville economy and its business community.听

The mission of the Center for Micro Nano and Biotechnology is to cultivate a multidisciplinary approach to training the next generation by (a) providing 91制片厂 faculty and students with state of the art Nanoscience and Biotechnology equipment and proficiency, (b) providing a greater understanding and appreciation of Nanoscience and Biotechnology, and (c) providing collaboration opportunities with industry professionals. The Center provides online information in Nanoscience and Biotechnology, web-enhanced courses and tutorials, and aims to stimulate curiosity and innovation while promoting science literacy.听
